Sweat with Kayla - App Review

I recently downloaded the Bikini Body Guide app from Kayla Itsines. As you may know from my twitter/blog I have tried a lot of these types of guides. I've done the Body Coach, LDN Muscle & a plan from the fitness instructor from my gym and I have enjoyed them all - The only problem is I get bored! I seem to constantly be looking for something else to try. Although this app is quite expensive at £15 per month I do think that the amount of content and support in the community is worth the cost. It works out at just £3.75 a week with the average class at my gym costing £5.95, so if you look at it that way it's pretty good.

Here is how the app looks. Each week you need to do three resistance workouts (legs, arms & abs and full body), LISS and HIIT and there is also a recovery section for stretching and foam rolling - which feels amazing! Each week is different. The great thing about this app is that it includes recipes and a meal plan so if you are struggling with thinking of healthy meals this is perfect.

Another thing I love about the Kayla Itsines 'movement' is the amount of support and content that is available through instagram and twitter, there are so many amazing people doing this that you can follow along with on social media which really gives you a boost and the inspiration to keep going! I'm only on week 5 so far but I am really enjoying it. I am still doing my normal classes in the evening but feel this app is giving me that extra push that I need as working out can become quite stale when you run out of ideas!

I'm seeing small changes so far but I know that this is a lifestyle change not a quick fix so am looking forward to seeing more changes in the coming months. If you are taking part in the BBG please send me your social media links so I can follow along with your journey - good luck everyone!

  1. Love this post! I bought her BBG ebook and I've gotta admit - even after a few weeks, I saw some changes! But as uni started back up, I wasn't able to do it on a regular basis so I gave up haha. I love the sound of an app though! x

  4. Oooh this is a super useful post! The app keeps coming up in my fb recommended and I've wanted to try it but the price sort of puts me off, though now seeing what you get for your money it's not half bad. Def think it might be something to try when I'm actually earning tho. Thank youu for this!
